Admission Requirements

The following is a list of requirements for the program:

• A graduate GPA of 3.5 or above
• TOEFL when appropriate
• Three (3) letters of recommendation, including statements regarding ability to pursue advanced graduate study
• Personal statement sample (1‐3 pages include: 1) personal and professional objectives in counselor education and your long‐range professional goals; 2) research activities and experience; 3) your strengths and weaknesses, and 4) any additional information you might want to share)
• Scholarly paper you have written
• Personal interview (in-person or virtual (via Skype, Zoom, etc.)
• Relevant experience (one year preferred)
• A master’s degree from a CACREP accredited or CACREP equivalent program. If a student has a different degree, he or she may have to take additional coursework determined by the faculty
• Completed Ph.D. department application form
