The Arizona Teachers Academy at the University of Arizona is a voter-approved initiative to bring more qualified K-12 educators into the state's classrooms by offering student-teachers full-tuition scholarships and access to post-graduate induction services like instructional coaching and professional development.

Being named an Arizona Teaching Fellow is a special recognition that connects students to the school district where they student teach in a meaningful way with the intention that they will teach in that district after completing the professional preparation program.

The Indigenous Teacher Education Project (ITEP) is a 4-year project in partnership with the Gila River Indian Community, Pascua Yaqui Tribe, Tohono O'odham Nation, and Tucson Unified School District to strengthen the learning experiences of indigenous students by addressing the need to increase the number of Indigenous teachers serving Indigenous students, schools, and communities.
Pathways to Teaching
Pathways to Teaching is a new, innovative College of Education Teacher Preparation Program that seeks to “grow our own” teachers by supporting district partner-area residents in earning a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with an ESL endorsement.
Early Childhood Education
Undergraduates seeking their Bachelor of Arts in Education in Early Childhood Education at the University of Arizona study with the same cohort from start to finish, offering each other inspiration and support along the way.
This professional admission program leads to an Arizona Elementary Teaching Certificate for grades K-8 with an endorsement once all certification requirements are complete.
The M.Ed. in Secondary Education Alternative Pathway Program is a two-year, professional, alternative certificate program in which students develop as teachers, meet certification requirements, and earn a master’s degree while teaching full-time in middle or high schools.
Students who successfully complete this program and student teaching are eligible to apply for the Provisional Mild to Moderate (K-12) Special Education Teaching Certificate in the state of Arizona.
