School Counseling Specialization
The School Counseling specialization prepares graduates to achieve state certification as Certified School Counselors and to become vital members of school education teams. Students choosing this emphasis will be eligible for certification in the State of Arizona as a school counselor, as well as meeting the educational requirements for licensure in the State of Arizona as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Students who choose to work as school counselors assist all students in the areas of academic achievement, personal and social development, and career development.
MA Counseling Program at the University of Arizona would like to inform you that our Master’s Counseling Program will no longer be admitting students into our School Counseling specialty currently accredited under 2016 CACREP Standards. We are committed to ensuring that all currently enrolled School Counseling students successfully complete their studies under the new accreditation standards within the next two years. We remain dedicated to maintaining the highest quality of education and support for our students during this transition period.
If you are interested in school counseling, please contact Dr. Lia Falco or Dr. Renae Mayes.
