This award invites Interns to learn a different side of education than the classroom experience. Funding for graduate student interns is $2,000. per semester.
Graduate students can be recognized as Paul Lindsey Interns for a max of two semesters. ($4,000. Total funding)
Lindsey Interns build leadership and management skills through real-world experiences in their work with community outreach programs, museums, and a variety of local education facilities.

COLLEGE OF EDUCATION ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Commit to 80 hours of intern work per semester
- The intern must have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average or better.
- The intern must be enrolled full-time in a degree program at the UA College of Education with a dedicated interest in a career in education.
- Preference is made for students with financial need
- Students must have daytime schedule flexibility to accommodate a semester’s work activities, and have adequate transportation if required.
They can intern in education-related offices, outreach programs, learning centers/programs at the school or district level, museums, evaluation agencies, or other school collaborative projects. The Awarded Interns are not classroom aides and should not be requested as classroom assistants. They are not tutors or mentors. Graduate students will gain experience in providing assistance and problem solving for basic practices in these and other areas: Assessment, Interventions, Staff development, School and district business administration/operations, educational programming, as well as problem identification and problem-solving at the systems level.

- STUDENT WILL SUBMIT THE APPLICATION WHICH ALLOWS FOR THEIR TOP TWO CHOICES OF PLACEMENT and THEIR LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION
- COORDINATOR WILL FORWARD APPLICATIONS AND LETTERS TO INDICATED HOSTS AS THEY COME IN.
- HOSTS WILL ARRANGE INTERVIEWS WITH YOU, THE APPLICANT. (Note: early applicants will have a stronger chance of being awarded as they will interview sooner.)
- POST INTERVIEW, HOSTS WILL MAKE A DECISION ON WHOM TO INVITE AS AN INTERN TO THEIR ORGANIZATION.
- MARY WERNER AND STUDENT WILL BE NOTIFIED OF HOST’S SELECTION.
- PRIOR TO THE START OF THE INTERNSHIP, AWARDED STUDENT WILL MEET WITH MARY WERNER AND FILL OUT NECESSARY PAPERWORK.
