HED Master's students reunited!

Oct. 30, 2020

Two students have been reunited because of our program!! HED Master’s students, Selena Velasquez (first year) and Aileen Cerrillos (second year), had been friends who attended the same middle school in Visalia, California but had lost touch. During the New Student Orientation this past August, Aileen was one of the panelists and Selena realized she was her long lost friend from middle school!

Aileen is the Graduate Assistant for the University Pantry.

Selena is a teaching assistant for HED 350: Student Outreach, Access & Resiliency in Education (Project SOAR) and a graduate assistant for Dr. Deil-Amen’s NSF project, "Bridging Faculty and Student Cultures: Culturally Responsive Support for STEM Students Transferring between Two- and Four-Year Hispanic Serving Institutions."
