Dr. Roseanne Lopez is a native Tucsonan and has three degrees from the University of Arizona including a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and a Doctorate in Education Policies and Practices with a minor in Teaching and Teacher Education and a concentration in Politics and Policy. She received the high honor as an Erasmus Circle Scholar during her doctoral work. Her dissertation focused on teacher pay.
Dr. Lopez worked in the Amphitheater School District for forty years beginning as a teacher in the gifted program, a department head, principal of Lulu Walker Elementary School, and working in central office positions for fourteen years. Central office positions included directing a $29 million dollar performance pay grant, career ladder manager, Chief Academic Officer, and finally the Associate Superintendent for Elementary Education. Her career in Amphitheater provided her with multiple and varied experiences working with children and their families, teacher and administrator training, designing and implementing teacher evaluation systems, operational support for the school district, conducting hearings, facilitating policy and salary negotiations, assisting and facilitating the selection of large curriculum adoptions, overseeing training and implementation of the student data management system, overseeing selection of educational software purchases, starting the in-house chain of Imagine Preschools, and much more.
Dr. Lopez retired from the school district in 2021 and has started a consulting business focusing on mentoring principals and providing training around the country on becoming a principal mentor through the National Association of Elementary School Principals.
