Dr. Becka Lopez is the enthusiastic leader of the Early Childhood Education Teacher Preparation Program at the University of Arizona. Raised in Tucson since she was an infant, she’s a proud Wildcat who’s come full circle, now guiding the very program where she earned her B.A.E. in Early Childhood Education. Her mission? To sprinkle some anti-bias, anti-racist magic into all areas within the field of early childhood education and to work toward ways for the education system to become a fair and just playground for all students and families. When she’s not working with and for young children, you might find her indulging in Tucson’s best tacos or dreaming up new ways to make learning a little more fun and a lot more holistic!
Becka has her BAE in Early Childhood Education from the University of Arizona, her MS in Special Education from the University of Kansas, and her PhD in Teaching Learning and Sociocultural Studies: Early Childhood Education from the University of Arizona.
