Karine Michael identifies as an indigenous female with pronouns (she, her, hers) belonging to the Dine (Navajo), Hopi, and Acoma tribes. She serves as an Academic Advisor for Early Childhood Education, and Elementary Education Majors for the College of Education.
Prior to joining the College of Education, she worked with Campus Health: Counseling and Psych Services as a Medical Administrative Assistant. She has experience developing children’s programs, such as After-School & Summer Programs for youth with behavioral diagnoses and other learning disabilities through the non-profit organization, La Frontera/La Paloma Family Services. She also has experience working as a Teaching Fellow/Special Education Assistant through BASIS Tucson Primary School.
Karine graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.A. in Psychology with a Minor in Music.
In her free time, Karine likes to travel, camp, mountain bike, train in martial arts, compose/play music, and sew. On those lazy days, she just enjoys the company of her new hubby and 4 fur babies (3 cats and 1 dog) or playing Magic the Gathering with her best friends.
