Jon is originally from Oklahoma, where he got his bachelor's in Secondary Education (Math) from Oklahoma State University. He finished his two-year Peace Corps service in Mozambique where he taught English as a foreign language. Since then, he has been going to UA where he got his master's in Teaching and Teacher Education. He is currently working on his doctorate in Teaching, Learning, and Sociocultural Studies with an emphasis in math education. His research interests include critical pedagogy, critical math education, math identities, and math modeling.
