As an interdisciplinary researcher, I focus on combining advances in the cognitive sciences and psychometrics to improve measures of instructional quality and teacher knowledge specifically in the area of elementary mathematics education. My dissertation focuses on the validation of a novel measure of instructional quality that will provide a complimentary, scalable measure to further research in capturing teaching practices. Currently, I work as a Research Assistant on a NSF sponsored DRK-12 project focused on developing a measure of teacher knowledge, a James S. McDonnell Foundation project focused on improving classroom communication, and a NSJ sponsored project analyzing validity of current measures of teachers' mathematical knowledge. I plan to complete PhD in Teaching Learning and Sociocultural studies (TLS) and my MS in Data Science and Statistics in the Spring of 2022.
