Megan “Amarie” Mace is a Tucson native dedicated to researching and improving the education of high school students in the area. Amarie is currently a mathematics teacher at Sunnyside High School focusing on the development of students’ mathematical identities. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Literacy, Learning, and Leadership. In addition, she also has a Master of Education degree in Teaching and Teacher Education.
Amarie is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Education degree in Mathematics and Science Education with a minor in Diversity and Social Justice. Her research focuses on the mathematics identity development of high school students, specifically Hispanic students in the Tucson area.
