Alex Nichelson (she/her/hers) serves as the Academic Advisor for Pathways to Teaching program and the Indigenous Teacher Education Program.
Prior to joining the College of Education, she worked as an Educational Youth Advocate for Indigenous Youth in the Public School system and as a School Counselor in Early Education, supporting both teachers and students.
Alex graduated from Portland State University with a B.S. in Child and Family Studies. Recognizing that mental health was a priority for many of her students, she pursued and completed an M.Ed. in School Counseling from Northern Arizona University.
She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and watching movies.
