“I remember being so intrigued because it offered a program for teacher’s aides to help pay for college,” University of Arizona College of Education, Indigenous Teacher Education Program - ITEP graduate, Kristy Pahvahtyah said.
Recently, Kristy Pahvahtyah who teaches at Pueblo Gardens Pre K-8 was nominated as the June 2023 Honoree by Honored. Honored is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring and elevating great teachers. By celebrating the extraordinary impact teachers have on the lives of their students, Honored’s initiatives help to engage, inspire, and retain great teachers across the country.
