Each year, the National Teacher of the Year has an opportunity to bring awareness to priorities that will make a direct impact on the students and communities they serve.
This year's National Teacher of the Year, Juliana Urtubey, a two-time alum of the College, is centering her priorities around how educators and communities can work together in creating joyous and just education systems – ones that ensure all students feel a deep sense of belonging by embracing their unique identities and designed to provide students with access to the resources they need to thrive.
In her Address to the Nation, Urtubey calls for educators to find ways to honor students’ identities, uplift families and celebrate communities so that all children have an uplifting education. Please join us in celebrating her message and all of the students, families and communities she represents.
