Camelia Shaheed Named 2019 Erasmus Scholar

Oct. 22, 2020

Congratulations to CES Doctoral Student Camelia (Camy) Shaheed who has been named a 2019 Erasmus Circle Scholar. The Erasmus Circle scholarship program was developed by the Dean’s Advisory Board of the College of Education at the University of Arizona to honor outstanding students in education and related fields. The scholarships are funded by generous gifts by College of Education Erasmus Circle Benefactors and Patrons and Erasmus Circle Members. Erasmus Circle Scholars are awarded a $1000 scholarship. Erasmus Circle Scholars are outstanding students who show promise in their area of study, many of whom have made contributions to their communities, the College of Education, and the University of Arizona. This description certainly describes Camy.  Camy is a doctoral candidate in the Counselor Education and Supervision PhD program. To date she is a co-author on 2 articles/book chapters accepted for publication, has co-presented at a national conference, and is a co-recipient of a Presidential Award from the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association for her work in initiating the project that led to the development of the Disability-Related Counseling Competencies endorsed in 2019 by the American Counseling Association.
