Solito Book Discussion

Please join the Education Policy Center, the College of Education Diversity Committee, and the TLS Equity Committee for the first in a series of book discussions on topics and issues of interest to many of us.

Our selection for the first discussion is Javier Zamora’s memoir called Solito. The story details his migration journey from El Salvador to the U.S. and his crossing as an unaccompanied nine-year-old through the harsh terrain of the Sonoran Desert. Solito is available electronically (free) at the U of A library. Zamora is primarily known as the author of Unaccompanied, an award-winning book of poems. He lives in Tucson.

Students: You can begin to read the book online, but we will provide you with a hard copy of the book on the day of the discussion!

Please register by 12/1/2022 since we would like to provide light refreshments.
