Ali Yaylali is a PhD candidate in the Teaching, Learning, and Sociocultural Studies Department. Before starting the graduate program, he taught ESL and Turkish in the US. His academic interests are in second language acquisition, English learners’ science writing development, corpus pedagogy in language classrooms, content area and disciplinary literacy development, and discourses of education and media.
