Molly Romano, Ph.D. (University of Arizona, 1999), is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Teaching and Teacher Education. Her research has been accepted for publication in the main journals for research on teaching and teacher education and includes studies of teacher reflection and event-specific narratives, with a primary focus on teacher needs and concerns in the induction phase of teaching. She teaches courses in classroom processes and instruction, action research, research on teaching, and observation and supervision of teachers. Dr. Romano serves as cochair for the professional development strand of the Professional Preparation Board and as a member of the Southern Arizona Professional Developers, both collaborations between the UA and local school districts. She also has been a program cochair for the American Educational Research Association on Professional Development and for the Research on Teacher Induction. Prior to her tenure at the UA, she was as an elementary school teacher for 10 years.
