Dr. Margaret Pysh is an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation and School Psychology at the University of Arizona. She co-directs the Special Education Administration Leadership training program to prepare directors of special education. She also serves as project manager for the Bilingual School Psychology Program. Prior to joining the University of Arizona faculty, Dr. Pysh was the director of special education programs for the Northern Suburban Special Education (NSSED). NSSED is cooperative of 22 school districts with 50,000 students in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Dr. Pysh was responsible for administering the special education instructional program through the supervisory, psychological and social work staff. She also was the primary special education liaison to the 22 local district staff and school boards. Dr. Pysh is the creator of the Teacher Assistance Team (TAT) model for school-based problem solving with Dr. Chalfant. TAT has been implemented throughout the United States and many parts of the world. Dr. Pysh's research interests are school-based teams and learning helplessness.
