John E. Obrzut - Professor

Teaching: School psychology, Neuropsychological basis of learning disabilities, Personality assessment
Dr. Obrzut received his PhD degree at the University of Minnesota in the Department of Educational Psychology with a specialization in School Psychology. He has worked at the University of Arizona since 1984 as a professor and past director of the school psychology program. Before coming to the University of Arizona he was a professor for ten years at the University of Northern Colorado in the Department of Professional Psychology. He also was the director of the school psychology program at that university for a period of 5 years. In addition, he worked the 2003-2004 academic year in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Alberta. Since graduating from the University of Minnesota, he has written and carried out basic research primarily in the area of brain-behavior relationships with children who experience learning disabilities. His written work consists of over 150 articles published in professional books and journals. He has also done extensive editorial work for numerous psychological journals. His teaching specialty areas include: practice of school psychology, neuropsychological basis of learning and behavior, theoretical basis of intelligence, and personality assessment.
