Darrell L. SabersPh.D., University of Iowa

Research interests: reliability, validity, and item characteristics of measurement devices; assessment of learning outcomes.

Teaching specialty areas: measurement and methodology, quantitative analysis, test construction and interpretation.

Darrell Sabers (Ph.D., University of Iowa) is a Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology where he served two terms as department head. His previous appointment was at the University of Iowa where he was an associate professor and assistant director of the Bureau of Educational Research and Service. He has also served as Director of Research for Merrill Publishing Company’s Testing Division, and was consulting editor for many tests published by The Psychological Corporation. His primary research and consulting activities have been in applied psychometrics. He has served as associate editor for the American Educational Research Journal, consulting editor for the Journal of Special Education, and on the advisory board of the Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment. He takes great pride in his former graduate students who are nationally known for their preparation in quantitative analysis and contributions to educational measurement.
