Educational Leadership
The Educational Leadership Program at the University of Arizona College of Education prepares individuals for leadership roles at all levels of public education. Through coursework, internships and independent research projects, students in both our master's and doctoral programs enhance their abilities to:
- Use theory and research to inform and guide practice
- Cultivate interpersonal relationships and strengthen political diplomacy skills
- Follow ethical principles
- Adapt to a changing world
- Predict the consequence of proposed action
- Sustain continuous educational improvements over time
Graduates from the Educational Leadership Program hold positions in urban, rural and suburban districts. They work as principals, superintendents and other district office professionals. Many graduates serve in leadership roles in professional organizations at the state and national levels.
Our Purpose
The focus of the leadership program is to prepare leaders in education to achieve results in the nation's schools by:
- Translating theory and knowledge into practice
- Applying skills in interpersonal relations and political diplomacy
- Following ethical principles
The development of skills and qualities that will enhance the ability of leaders to empower, inspire and guide the performance of others in achieving the desired goals of a school, a school district or a community will be the focus of this program.
