Physical Education Cohort Program
Students enter the physical education program after completing about two years of undergraduate work at the University of Arizona or elsewhere. To participate in the Physical Education Teacher Preparation Program, the student must first be admitted into the College of Education Teacher Preparation Program. Admission to the PE program follows criteria set for the Teacher Preparation Program which includes the follow: a minimum 2.5 GPA, 120 hours of volunteer work with children, and a written essay.

Physical Education Course DescriptionsIf you are considering a career as a PE teacher, we suggest that you:Meet with the PE academic advisor about the course of study recommended. The PE academic advisor advises:
- Freshmen and sophomores before their admission to the program (Pre-Physical Education or PRPE)
- Juniors and seniors admitted to the College of Education and enrolled in a PE program
- Post-baccalaureate students preparing for teacher certification
