Special Education Program
Emotional / Behavioral Disorders
The program in emotional/behavioral disorders prepares teachers of students who require special education due to variations in emotional and behavioral responses.
A minimum of 38 units of graduate study is required for the M.A. degree. Either successful completion of a written comprehensive exam or completion and successful oral defense of a thesis is required. A maximum of 12 semester hours can be transferred from non-degree graduate status at the University of Arizona.
As a full-time student, at least two academic semesters and summer school are needed to fulfill the degree requirements. Part-time students usually take 3 to 6 units each semester, completing in 2 to 5 years. The program will be tailored to the background and needs of each student through consultation with your advisor.
See The University of Arizona Graduate Catalog for additional information concerning the M.A. program in Special Education.
