Education of D/HH Students
On-line Program
The Department of Special Education, Rehabilitation and School Psychology at the University of Arizona supports a graduate concentration to prepare teachers of children who are deaf and hard-of-hearing (D/HH or DHH). Individuals can enter a master’s program in Special Education and obtain certification in Education of D/HH, or if they already have teaching certification and a master’s degree in another area, they can elect to complete courses to receive state certification in Education of D/HH. The online program starts in the Summer I term.
Program Philosophy and the Future of the Field
The aim of the teacher preparation program in DHH is to prepare highly qualified teachers who can work with children with varying degrees of hearing loss as well as across multiple educational placements. The program does not advocate a single type of placement for all children with hearing loss. ... Please read more about the program philosophy.
